I've been in a bit of a photographic slump lately. By lately, I mean I think its been more than a year. I've only had three shoots of any sort in the past sixteen months. Only one of those was with a model. Call it being busy, call it being uninspired. Both true. There was a time when I felt unenchanted with taking photos as my camera began collecting dust.

This past weekend was amazing. Two major shoots, both with incredible shots, one completely unplanned. I have only one muse and she inspires me beyond belief to be more creative and artistic in every medium.

She encourages me to push myself to achieve more and explore new mediums and always helps. The artist in her comes out not only in front of the camera, but behind it as well. We shot in the dressing rooms of my theatre the other night and captured some of my newest favorite photos of her.

Two days later, I found myself on the coast of Connecticut exploring an abandoned hospital and came out with more amazing photos.

In less than two weeks I expect to sustain the new found inspiration and share more of the art in my life.

Your photos are fantastic!! Where are you located? Most hospitals here now are so heavily patrolled youre arrested before you even get in. *sob*

Thank you. Right now I'm located in Birmingham, AL, but I live in various places around the country, as my pictures suggest. An abandoned hospital is a very rare find in most areas, but other structures are abundant. I've always wanted to visit the former asylums of the Northeast.

I was recently kicked out of the mental institutions in Medfield, MA. That was over the summer - I believe its been torn down now - but there were multiple buildings and my god they were beautiful.

I had my usual bag with me..the camera, flashlight, lighter, some first aid stuff and a crowbar, and a cop found me in one of the high grass fields because the wind was blowing. :(
Luckily he said just to get out of there, since that place was State Property, but I was denied access and all buildings were put on patrol afterwards..such a shame. :/

Every action you take is, in some way, important. Act Wisely.

So I was in the trap room of the Ohio Theatre the other night, waiting for my cue light for the fog machine, and I was staring off into the swirling wisps like usual when I had a thought. I thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool to use a fog machine in photography some how? It would add something very unique to a say a model shot. Then I thought I should tell that Tony Crawford guy about my idea, he could easily borrow one or two from some friends. So there it is and now I expect to see something soon. :D

I accept your challenge, Fritz. See you on the other side.
